Welcome to Troop 100's web site. Troop 100is chartered and sponsored by Fremont United Methodist Church. The troop serves youth from the Alameda, Hollywood, Irvington and Beaumont neighborhoods of northeast Portland. A group of visionary adults applied for Troop 100's first charter on February 23, 1921. Troop 100has operated continuously for more than eighty-five years, making it one of the oldest troops in the United States.Troop 100has a vigorous outdoor and advancement program, including an overnight outing each month, year‑round. The activities at Troop 100 are planned by the Scouts, for the Scouts (with adult assistance and support, of course).The troop also has numerous Scouts that have achieved the rank of Eagle in recent years.New information is added almost weekly so check back on a regular basis to see what's new. Please be sure to bring a recent copy of your currently completed health from.  The form needs to be signed by one of the Scout's parents within the last 12 months and by a medical professional.

Urgent all NEW Troop 100 Scouts

The following must be completed ASAP in order to participate in any Troop activities

  1. Scoutmaster must receive a completed Scout application form that is completely filled out.  This is required in order to transfer a Scout from another Troop or Pack.  This must be done before a Scout an participate on the up coming hike or campout.

The date of the hike has been pushed 1 week to 4/28/12.  Please bring your signed permission forms to the upcoming Troop meeting.  Adults are welcome to come hike. 

National Youth Leadership Training (formerly known as “Polaris” and “Sogus”)

National Youth Leadership Training (formerly known as “Polaris” and “Sogus”), is scouting's training program for troop youth leaders aged 13 through 17. NYLT is an exciting action-filled six-day course which greatly expands the concepts introduced to most scouts at their unit level “Troop Leader Training” courses (such as what a leader must BE, KNOW, and DO. NYLT training is in an outdoor setting. Leadership concepts taught and experienced are directly applicable in immediate camp activities and in the provisional patrol setting itself. Later these leadership skills will be used at the home troop and in all other situations in life demanding leadership of self and others.

Philmont ARROWHEADWHAT & WHERE:  Are you ready for the High Adventure trip of a lifetime? How does 12 days of backpacking in the high mountains of New Mexico sound? The Cascade Pacific Council has openings now for the 2013 Philmont contingent. Philmont is the national BSA's premier high adventure backpacking base located in New Mexico. "Crews" of up to ten Scouts and two adult advisors choose from thirty-six, 11 day, 60 to 100 mile backpack trips through the rugged high-altitude backcountry of the southern Rocky Mountains. Along the way, they visit many of Philmont's 28 staffed camps, featuring activities such as: rock climbing, black powder rifle shooting, blacksmithing, mountain biking, spar pole climbing, horseback riding, or climbing 12,441 ft. to the top of Mt. Baldy.
